Who we are
Burmain (Pty) Ltd operates Marketang. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights under POPIA, email hello@marketang.co.za.
Information about our customers
When you sign up we collect your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), and the details you add as a sender (job title, phone, signature). Payments are processed by PayFast; we don't see or store card numbers.
Information about business contacts
On our customers' instructions, the service collects business contact information about people at organisations, such as name, job title, business email, business phone, LinkedIn profile and the public web page it came from. Our customers decide who to contact and are responsible parties for that outreach under POPIA; we process the information on their behalf.
Anyone who receives an email sent through the service can opt out with the link or by replying. Opt-outs are honoured immediately and that address is not contacted again by that sender.
To have your business contact details removed or to ask what we hold about you, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
How we use AI providers
To research organisations and write messages, relevant business information is sent to our AI providers: Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini, with Google Search). We use their paid business services, under which customer data isn't used to train their models.
Where data is stored and for how long
Data is stored on our servers and kept while your account is active. When you delete leads or close your account, the data is deleted, except for minimal records needed to honour opt-outs and to prevent the same person being re-added.
Security
We use encrypted connections, encrypt stored mailbox passwords and limit access to people who need it.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, and object to its processing. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
